Today I’m thrilled to introduce you to Christina Lee! Christina writes new adult, adult and LGBTQ romance. I fell head over heels for her words and her characters when I picked up All of You a couple years ago. I haven’t looked back since. I’ve enjoyed everything she’s put out so far. If you’re a fan of new adult and you’re not reading her Between Breaths standalone series, you should be. If new adult isn’t really your thing, check out her adult contemporary romance, Two of Hearts. Her next book, The Darkest Flame, will be out in a couple weeks and I CAN’T WAIT. M/M motorcycle club? Sign me up!
I had the extreme pleasure of spending some quality time with this lady in Cleveland earlier this year and, let me tell you, if you get the chance… jump at it. She’s hilarious and sweet and loves to share info about her book research. *eyebrow wiggle* I just adore her.
Christina’s here to talk about some of her favorite words from books. I’ve only read a couple of these books so far, but my god, these words. Gorgeous!
Five Favorite Book Quotes
by Christina Lee
As an author, words are my everything. I could stare at a line for an eternity simply trying to get it right.
And as a reader, when I come across a sentence that makes me gasp because of the commanding emotion or image it evokes, I want to infuse it into my soul.
I could’ve listed hundreds of amazing quotes but instead I chose only five random favorites from different categories—young adult, new adult, or LGBTQ romance.
Sky, I’m not kissing you tonight but believe me when I tell you, I’ve never wanted to kiss a girl more. So stop thinking I’m not attracted to you because you have no idea just how much I am. You can hold my hand, you can run your fingers through my hair, you can straddle me while I feed you spaghetti, but you are not getting kissed tonight. And probably not tomorrow, either. I need this. I need to know for sure that you’re feeling every single thing that I’m feeling the moment my lips touch yours. Because I want your first kiss to be the best first kiss in the history of first kisses.
– HOPELESS by Colleen Hoover
Trav thought of the song – his song – and the cry from the invisible boy who slept in forgotten corners and lived to make people love him or hate him or anything so long as they didn’t forget his name.
– BENEATH THE STAIN by Amy Lane
When he plays
all the flowers swap colors
and years and decades and centuries
of rain pour back into the sky.
– THE SKY IS EVERYWHRE by Jandy Nelson
So I did it. In the middle of some East London party, beneath the eyes of untold strangers, for a nineteen year old boy whose name I hadn’t even bothered to ask, I mustered what little grace I could remember, and went to my knees.
What the boy felt at that moment was that he was in the presence of the only woman in his life, and that, with no need for words, she recognized the same thing. He was more certain of it than of anything in the world. He had been told by his parents and grandparents that he must fall in love and really know a person before becoming committed. But maybe people who felt that way had never learned the universal language.
Because, when you know that language, it’s easy to understand that someone in the world awaits you, whether it’s in the middle of the desert or in some great city. And when two such people encounter each other, and their eyes meet, the past and the future become unimportant. There is only that moment, and the incredible certainty that everything under the sun has been written by one hand only.

Thanks for stopping by, Christina! I’m a total word junkie myself, so I love quotes. And also, I now have a couple new books to add to my TBR.
