Hey everyone! It’s Sunday and you know what that means… it’s time to meet another awesome blogger and get ready for their mini challenge!
I’m excited to introduce you to another awesome blogger today – meet Brandie from Brandie is a Book Junkie! I can’t even remember now when I first stumbled across Brandie and her fantastic blog, but I’m glad I did. She and I definitely have similar tastes in books and I find myself SO VERY motivated by her posts about fitness and her 5K training. She’s an inspiration!
Keep reading to learn more about Brandie and make sure you swing by her site for her fun mini-challenge!
How did you come up with your blog name?
I started using Book Junkie as my Twitter name a few years before I started my blog, and it just stuck!
What genre/subject matter do you read and review most on your blog?
This is tough because it has really varied lately. I will go with New Adult & Romance.
Name three books you’re most excited for in 2015.
All the books by Colleen Hoover. She is my favorite author and happened to have 3 releases this year. Confess, Never Never, and November Nine.
Where in the world are you blogging from?
Massillon, Ohio. Close landmark is the Pro Football Hall of Fame and I’m about an hour south of Cleveland.
How did you get into blogging in the first place?
I have such a passion for reading and one day just decided I wanted to share my reviews and favorite books with others. Several girl friends at work encouraged me and I’m glad I listened.
Apart from reading, what other hobbies/interests do you have?
Running has become a recent passion of mine. I’m training to run my first 5K.
If you were stuck on a deserted island, which books would you bring with you?
My stack of Colleen Hoover books, Goodnight June by Sarah Jio, and the Gabriel’s Inferno trilogy by Sylvain Reynard.
If you could have dinner with any three authors, alive or dead, who would you pick?
Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher, & Sarah Jio. I think they would all be so much fun to hang out with.
What’s your favorite fangirl/boy freakout memory? (Meeting your favorite author, getting exclusive ARCs, etc.)
Every time I get offered an ARC for one of Colleen Hoover’s books, I freak out. It’s such an honor to me, and if it weren’t for blogging I would never have had the opportunity. I’ve also had a few fangirl moments – getting tweets from Sylvain Reynard, EL James, and Kendall Ryan. One time I received a comment from Tarryn Fisher on Instagram and she liked my review of her book on Goodreads recently. I admit I had a big fangirl moment then. It’s so awesome when authors interact with their fans, and I’m thankful for the times I’ve been fortunate enough to have it happen.
Which book got you hooked on reading?
I always answer Twilight for this question. I’ve loved to read since I was a child, but my true non-stop reading obsession, joining Goodreads, etc. came around the time I got hooked on the Twilight series. Those books opened up a whole new world of reading for me. A few years later, I picked up Slammed by Colleen Hoover, and again my world was changed. I was introduced to another genre I love and found my favorite author. Reading changes lives, people!
Thanks for stopping by, Brandie!
