She’s an expert in helping others de-stress, but Arilyn Meadows is running on fumes. Along with her job counseling singles seeking soul mates at the Kinnections agency in Verily, New York, she’s a yoga teacher, animal shelter volunteer, anger management therapist, and helping hand to her beloved grandfather. No time to find Mr. Right—but after discovering her yogi boyfriend in a compromising asana, Arilyn would rather dog-sit for her honeymooning friend Kate than risk her heart on another downward dog. And when police officer Stone Petty—radiating masculinity and bad-boy attitude—is sent to her for mandatory lessons in cooling off when the job gets too hot, Arilyn vows to ignore his seductive glances and sexy grin. But there’s no halting their sizzling flirtation—a red-hot, high-speed chase that’s breaking all the limits.
I just love the Searching For series. Jennifer’s writing is fantastic and her characters have a way of pulling me right into the story and not letting go even once the book is over. Arilyn and Stone were no exception.
I was so excited to get my hands on Arilyn and Stone’s story. I wanted to see how the surly officer and spiritual yoga teacher would get along. It should come as no surprise that they didn’t at all… at first. They’d already crossed paths and not been all that impressed with each other, so when Stone was forced to attend Arilyn’s anger management program after losing his cool in the line of duty, I just knew we were going to be in for a treat. I loved the push and pull between these two. They were both so very stubborn and set in their ways, yet the chemistry between them was undeniable. Inconvenient, but undeniable.
Both Arilyn and Stone were fantastic characters on their own, but together they were really something special. She was kind and thoughtful. I could relate to her love for animals, even if I couldn’t quite connect with her clean eating, yoga doing ways. Stone was grumpy and all man. He didn’t much care for Arilyn’s methods, but he was attracted to her… even if he didn’t want to be.What he loved to do was push her buttons and I, for one, loved watching him get the otherwise calm, centered woman all riled up. Add to that the sexual tension between them and it just got better.
It could probably go without saying that this book has some smokin’ hot sexy times. When these two collided, sparks flew. But, more than just hot, this story was romantic and all kinds of swoony. There was tons of heart and I loved seeing the softer side of Stone emerge. And can we just talk about how hot it was when he called her “little one”? *sigh* I loved how important a role animals play in this book. Arilyn’s love of four-legged creatures definitely played a part in Stone’s progress and there were some heart-melty scenes guaranteed to make any animal-lover smile – and, if you’re like me, tear up a bit.
Searching for Always was a fantastic addition to the the Searching For series. I loved that we get a chance to catch up with some of our favorite characters and couples from earlier in the series. It always makes me happy to find out life is treating characters I love well. I’m excited to say there seems to be at least one more book in the Searching For series and I can’t wait to get ahold of it. I don’t know whose story it is. All I know is that it (supposedly) comes out in November and I already need it in my life!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
