Hello friends!  This week we are so excited to introduced our very first blogger, Christine from i*heart*BigBooks!  She was nice enough to stop by and answer a few questions for us… and we are swimming a sea of jealousy that she has touched Nick Bateman.  Check out what she has to say below, and make sure you visit her to participate in our first mini challenge!

How did you come up with your blog name?

The song Baby Got Back (sometimes known as the I Like Big Butts song) by Sir-Mix-A-Lot tends to pop into my head at random, and sometimes inopportune times…..except the one fortunate time that I had decided to make a blog and needed a name. I was shocked that it hadn’t been taken already! And thus, i *Heart* Big Books (and i cannot lie…) was born.

What genre/subject matter do you read and review most on your blog?

Romance. Romance of any kind! A lot of New Adult, Adult, and Young Adult, in terms of age group, and my favorites genres are Contemporary and Paranormal! Regardless, I need that happy, uplifting ending. I read to escape and I read for joy. Depressing endings are not welcome here!

Name three books you’re most excited for in 2015.

Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout
November 9 by Colleen Hoover
Long Way Down by Krista & Becca Ritchie

Just mentioning these books give me the excited shivers!!

Where in the world are you blogging from?

Sunny Los Angeles, California! My ignorance of that thing called “winter” is a source of amusement for my East Coast friends. 😉

How did you get into blogging in the first place?

I actually had another blog before this one. It was short lived and I decided I wanted to relaunch, but what drove me to blogging in the first place, was Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. I just had so SO MANY FEELINGS after I read that book. I don’t have a lot of reader friends that I’ve met “in real life” and I had no one to turn to. Along came the online bookish community and I was welcomed in with kindness and open arms. This then became one of the biggest parts of my “real life”, especially due to the amazing friends I have been fortunate enough to make.

Apart from reading, what other hobbies/interests do you have?

I LOVE graphic design and art and anything creative! I was fortunate enough to start designing as a business and it’s been so fulfilling to me. I enjoy photography, binge watching Gilmore Girls, Orphan Black, Arrow, Flash, and watching Die Hard movies any time they appear on TV. And napping. Napping is of great interest to me.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, which books would you bring with you?

I would probably need some kind of science or Bear Grylls style book to tell me how to survive on a deserted island. But next would be my Harry Potter books. I don’t want to live in a world where I could never experience these books…over and over again.

If you could have dinner with any three authors, alive or dead, who would you pick?

J.K. Rowling, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Colleen Hoover. They are my favorites and I would literally spend at least 15 minutes just shaking and pinching myself to make sure it was all real.

What’s your favorite fangirl/boy freakout memory? (Meeting your favorite author, getting exclusive ARCs, etc.)

The time I miraculously and unexpectedly ran into Nick Bateman in Las Vegas. There were introductions, side hugging, photos, and oh, yeah, a hell of a lot of babbling involved. I managed to tell him how much I love Colleen Hoover and how excited I was to see him in Ugly Love. Then I wanted to pass out from severe bliss.

Which book got you hooked on reading?

All of Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein’s books! The Babysitter’s Club, Encyclopedia Brown, those Choose Your Own Adventure Books! I’ve been a lifelong reader ever since my parents would read to me every night before bed.
