That’s a Wrap: February 2015

Posted March 5, 2015 by Kim in That's a Wrap / 3 Comments

Where did February go? How is it already five days into March? My goodness time flies. My wrap-up is a bit late this month, but bear with me. I’m still recovering from all things ApollyCon. But, more about that when I actually write my event wrap-up. Spoiler alert: it was a lot of fun.

So, February. Two big things happened this month… my birthday and ApollyCon! My birthday was pretty low-key, which is exactly how I wanted it. I was saving up my energy (and money) for my birthday trip to Philadelphia for ApollyCon. Good call, too, because I bought A LOT of books in preparation for this trip. More on that later, but for now, how about two of my favorite photos from the trip?

Friday night we played Cards Against Humanity with Cora Carmack and a group of blogger friends. This is the after photo. Alcohol was involved. This is one of my highlights of the whole weekend. So. Much. Fun.

Saturday morning, in line for the VIR signing! We pulled it together pretty well after Friday’s festivities. 😉

I read some fantastic books in February. I was doing a really good job of reading ahead and reviewing quickly. Then ApollyCon hit and everything went to hell. I will catch up though. One day…

The only other thing of note from February is that I’m still continuing the blog redesign. It’s a pretty big job undertaking updating all the graphics and reformatting reviews, so it’s moving along slowly, but it’s still happening. I think I’ve officially hit the halfway point when it comes to reformatting reviews. Another couple months and I’ll be good to go!

Here’s a breakdown of my month:

Total number of books read: 26
Young adult: 1
New adult: 17
Adult: 8
Books DNF’d: 1
Reviews posted: 28
Discussion posts: 1

Looking Ahead

It’s almost SPRING! DC has honestly had it pretty easy this year – at least compared to parts of the northeast – but I’m done with winter. Though, I have to say, I’m kinda liking this apartment living thing. No more shoveling! It’s lovely. But, either way, I’m ready for warmer temps and flowers to be in bloom.

I don’t have anything big planned for March, so I’m hoping to get a lot done with the site revamp and catching up on all those reviews I want to write. Or, you know, making the call that I’m just NOT going to review a book and move on. I’m making my plans for a signing in April in Cleveland and for BEA in May. Spring’s going to pick up pretty quickly, so I’ll enjoy the downtime while I can.

Books I need in my life immediately!

Why is Confess on this list if I already read it? Because I HAVE TO HAVE the paperback. NOW. It’s going to be gorgeous.

Confess Fall With Me mm The Wrong Side of Right

And, of course, I have to mention just a few March releases I read early that you MUST check out. I loved these books so hard!

Books YOU need in YOUR life immediately!

Chase Me Where Sea Meets Sky Confess Trust the Focus Leaving Amarillo

That’s pretty much it for now! Have a great month! 🙂

  1. A signing in Cleveland!?!?! Where and we should meet up! I’m an hour from Cleveland!

Can’t wait to see your post for Apollycon. Glad you had fun!

I’m sick of the snow and cold, too. Ready for some sunshine.

I agree – I need the paperback of Confess in my life immediately. And I’m SO glad I finally read Beautiful Stranger! Went right onto my favorites shelf.

You should definitely check out the Cleveland signing! I’m so excited for it. I’m dragging my mom along. It’ll be her first-ever signing. 🙂 If you go we have to meet up!

  2. Aww! Look how much fun you had at ApollyCon! That’s awesome! I love seeing bookish event pics! 26 books? Girl you are a machine! That is incredible! YAY for The Deal making your top 5! It would have made mine too, if I did a wrap-up. And Confess! I’m going to be starting that one soon since I’m on the tour next week. Ever since Maybe Someday and Ugly Love, I’m a little nervous because CoHo doesn’t hold back on the feels!
