It’s finally time for the Top 14 of 2014! I’m excited to look back over my year in books and share my favorites with you. 🙂 We all know it’s not right to judge a book by its cover, but if you’re anything like me, you can’t help it. I’m such a sucker for gorgeous covers, or for ones with interesting elements, so I had a great time looking through my shelves (and on Goodreads) to find my 14 favorites for this year.
Don’t forget, there’s still time to participate in this meme (and enter to win some great prizes from me, Krista from Krista’s Dust Jacket and Jessica from A Midsummer Night’s Read! Make a post and link it up below. I can’t wait to see your favorites!
I can always count on Karina Halle’s books to have interesting or gorgeous covers. I’ve loved the covers for her other books this year, but there’s something about the colors and the freedom of this one that I just freaking love.
Continuing the wild hair theme with another of my favorite covers… It so perfectly depicts how I imagined Daisy, the main character in this book, and it grabbed my attention right from the start.
I love all the little details in this cover! It’s so perfect for the story. And a bonus? The texture of the paperback copy is exquisite. This is one of the prettiest books on my shelves.
Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of pink, but there’s something about the mix of hot pink, black and white here that I just love. I love the font and the detail in the top half of the cover. There’s so much awesome here that I see something different each time I look.
I love ALL the covers in this series, but the colors in this one grab me. The flowers and vines and the detail in the eye? It’s all just plain gorgeous.
This cover *might* be my favorite of the year. The dress, the hands, the stars, the colors… I love *everything* about it. The hardcover is beautiful too, with the raised lettering on the dust jacket. So pretty.
The rose and the staircase? Perfection. I still need to add this one to my shelves…
I loved this cover from the minute I first saw it. I love the colors. I love New York City. This is one big win for me.
I adore the big yellow phone receiver and the phone cord treatment at the end of the title. <3 I always adore Rainbow’s book covers and this was no exception.
The eBook covers caught my eye with their colors and the handwriting font, but the paperbacks are truly something special. The title is raised and just so very pretty. It was difficult to select one to highlight because they’re all gorgeous. I went with this one because I love the color the most. 🙂
As much as I loved the original cover for this book, the new one is that much MORE to me. I love the way the words are laid over the picture. The way it’s aged. *Everything* about it. The paperback is gorgeous, too.
It’s the colors of this cover that grab me. They’re so vibrant and summery. Love!
Doesn’t this just look like a beautiful road trip book? That’s just what it is. And the colors are what grab me first here, too. <3
