Sophie Young has been dreaming about the perfect Christmas in New York ever since she was a kid. But when her boyfriend bails on their romantic trip for two, she finds herself stranded in the city on Christmas Eve, with only a holiday-hating smooth-talking, utterly sexy stranger for company…

Rock-star Austin Kelly is fed up with Christmas – he’s more interested in who’s going to be cozying up under the mistletoe. But when his little black book comes up empty, he finds himself on a whirlwind tour of the city with the most unlikely partner in festive fun…

The snow is falling, but things are definitely heating up inside. And by the time the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve, there will be plenty to celebrate with old friends and familiar faces back in Beachwood Bay.

A heart-warming, sexy new stand-alone holiday novella from New York Times bestselling author Melody Grace!

In Review My Thoughts

Is there anything more romantic than New York City at Christmastime? I think not. When I learned one of my favorite new adult authors was adding a holiday novella, set in NYC, to a series I’ve really enjoyed, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. And, let me tell you, it was just what I needed and wanted in my life.

Poor Sophie’s dream holiday in New York with her boyfriend does not get started off on the right foot. The jerk dumps her in a way that makes me wonder why she was ever with him in the first place (a question that plagued me throughout the book as more details about their relationship came out) and she finds herself alone in the city. Fortunately, rock star Austin steps in and helps her discover the city, and the passion inside her in the process.

I really liked Sophie and Austin together. They had great chemistry and made a really good pair. Of course, everything was happening at warp speed, as it does with vacation flings, especially when you think there might be more there. I was a little doubtful of Austin at the beginning. His early actions in the book, not regarding Sophie, paint the picture of a real dog. And, I think that’s because he was. But things are different with Sophie. There’s obviously something special between them and it had nothing to do with convenience. I liked Sophie, but I wanted to yell at her for allowing her jerkwad ex boyfriend treat her how he did. Self-esteem, lady! Don’t let any guy treat you that way. Austin, however, treated her like a princess… in and out of the bedroom.

This novella was a bite-sized bit of awesome. It was sweet and sexy and heartwarming with just a hint of angst. The book might have been short, but the characters were well-developed and pretty easy to relate to. I read it in one sitting and wished there was more. I liked Sophie and Austin and hope to see them in the next Beachwood Bay book!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
