You can be anyone for a night...

Alicia isn't the kind of girl to kiss a total stranger up against the wall -- no matter how devastatingly sexy he is. But reeling from a broken heart, she runs straight into the arms of Dex Callahan: rock star, bad boy, and the most seductive man she's ever known.

Dex is looking for distraction, at any price. The innocent redhead is just what he needs to keep his demons at bay -- but one taste of her sweetness isn't enough. He needs to possess her, body and soul.

Two searching hearts. One night to discover the passion of a lifetime. Dex is determined to show Alicia the pleasure she's been denied, but can she let go of her heartache and take a risk on the unknown? Find out in the sizzling new novella from USA Today bestselling author, Melody Grace!

*This book contains adult situations and explicit content. 17+*

Author's note: UNREQUITED is the beginning of a new chapter in the Beachwood Bay series. It can be read as a stand-alone story, but you'll enjoy reading the other books, too.

In Review My Thoughts

A little over a year ago, I read Unbroken,  the first book in Melody Grace’s Beachwood Bay series, and enjoyed it, but somehow neglected to read the rest of the books. I clearly need to fix my mistake and will do so as time allows. When I saw she was doing a spinoff series titled The Callahans, I knew I had to pick it up immediately. After reading Unrequited, I am so, SO glad I did. I love Melody’s books and this one is certainly no exception.

“I’m not the kind of girl who makes out with a stranger in the back of a dark alley. Especially not a devastatingly sexy, dark-eyed stranger who I’ve barely known for five minutes flat.”

Now I’ll admit to being a little lost as to who Alicia is pining away for since I didn’t read the rest of the Beachwood Bay series, but it didn’t even matter. (I say that, but I fully intend to go back and read it so I have the whole story.) What mattered was the way she met Dex on a fluke in an alley and the incredible chemistry the two shared almost immediately. Holy heat. This book starts off with some seriously sexy kissing.

“The stranger grips my waist with strong hands, crushing me against his body. His tongue probes deeper, and I can’t help but part my lips to let him in, dizzy from the taste of him, and the sudden rush of heat like wildfire in my veins.”

“This, fuck, this right here. This is what drives men to madness; fells empires and starts epic wars.”

What happens when you mash up a regular career girl running from an unrequited crush and a former rock star running from his past? Extreme heat. Serious chemistry. Loads of sexual tension. And some other, potentially deeper feelings underneath it all.

“One week. No rules, no limits, just us. I can save you from this unrequited love of yours. And you… You can save me from myself.”

THIS is how you start off a new series. It’s a short novella and a super quick read, but holy hell, it’s a great one. I’m already hopelessly hooked on Dex and Alicia and can’t wait to get more of their story in the first full-length book in this series. In fact, I’m not entirely sure I can wait two weeks for Uninhibited to be released.

I received a copy of this book from the author, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

  1. I’ve noticed that a lot of people are reading this series lately, I’ll have to chck it out – I’m always on look out for great NA stories.
    Lovely review.

I just finished reading the first full-length book in the series this morning and I can’t recommend it highly enough! It has the characters, the growth and the steam factor that I love so much in NA!
