My rating:

An independent woman, a controlling man, and one wild one-night stand.

Kat Kennedy moved to the rugged coast of Maine to start a new life, but encountered much more than she bargained for in dark, dangerous, and seductive Lane Wild.

Desire and temptation smolder before she succumbs to her darkest fantasies with the captivating stranger. She doesn't expect to see him again after an explosive one-night stand leaves her breathless and craving more, but just like lightning in the darkness, he shows up in her life at the most unpredictable moments.

A sensual game of cat and mouse ensues before the attraction between them reaches a fever pitch—the magnetism combustible, the sexual tension nearly unbearable—and Kat finally abandons inhibition and explores the cunning, selfish, and sexual side of a world she's never known.

They have the perfect non-relationship—passion-fueled nights with no strings attached—until life gets real and the past and present collide in a dangerous storm of lust and obsession.

in review my thoughts

Wild was one hell of a ride. It was a short book, but it packed quite a punch. With a secretive protagonist, a dirty talkin’ sexy as hell alpha male, lots of seriously steamy sexy scenes and a twist that took me completely by surprise, I found myself unable to put it down until I got end. Wild is part of a series of standalones, so there’s not a cliffhanger, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wanted more of Kat and Lane (er, Wild).

I loved the characters in this book. A librarian’s assistant with a wild side, I found Kat to be very interesting. It was obvious she was keeping a secret, but I couldn’t have predicted the depth of what she was hiding. Lane (Wild) just might be my new favorite alpha male. He knew what he wanted, he wasn’t afraid to admit it. His dirty talk made me blush. It was obvious he knew his way around the female body and wow. Just wow. Both Kat and Lane were complicated characters, but they were likable and relatable. Their chemistry was off the charts. The relationship that was supposed to be friends with benefits only ended up being a hell of a lot more and I loved reading about the growth and change the relationship brought both of these characters.

Wow. What a book. I don’t read a lot of erotica, but if more of it was written like this, I might consider it. Maybe it is and I’m unfairly judging it and really missing something. What do you think?

About Adriane Leigh

Adriane Leigh was born and raised in a snowbank in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and now lives among the sand dunes of the Lake Michigan lakeshore.

She graduated with a Literature degree but never particularly enjoyed reading Shakespeare or Chaucer.

She is married to a tall, dark, and handsome guy, and plays mama to two sweet baby girls. She is a voracious reader and wishes she had more time to knit scarves to keep her warm during the arctic Michigan winters.

  1. I am so ridiculous. I love books with librarians and booksellers in them. I am that bookish! LOL. This book appeals to be me just because of the librarian. 🙂
