My rating:

"Have you heard the saying, 'sex sells'? Well, I'm the supplier."

Finnley Felton sells sex.

Jennifer Downs is a virgin.

With the help of lady luck, the two meet.

Money. Bright lights. Sex.

Jennifer is made an offer: sell her virginity to the highest bidder and transform into one of Finnley's girls. But she finds herself weak for him, and doesn't fully realize what she's agreed to until it's too late.

Will she rise to the challenge and play by the rules in a land where money is king and love is prohibited? Or will she lose herself and values in the attempt?

Weak for him is not considered a "dark" read, but does have unlady-like language, adult subject matter, and s-e-x-ual situations. Weak for Him does not have a cliffhanger. There is resolution but the story does continue on.

in review my thoughts

Ok, so there are some pretty harsh reviews out there for this book. But damn it, I enjoyed it and I’m not going to apologize for it. Was it a little far-fetched? Sure. Was the character behavior straight-up bizarre at times? Yes. Did I find any of the characters particularly likable? Not really. But, despite all this, or perhaps because of it, I thoroughly enjoyed this seriously steamy read. What might be considered flaws by some people are actually what made me enjoy the book so much.

Long story short, Jennifer’s parents die tragically in a car accident. She makes a plan, packs up her life and her car, and moves to Las Vegas. Shortly upon her arrival, while relaxing in her bath tub, she finds herself face-to-naked body with Finnley, a sexy British man. He apologizes, flees and offers her a job if she’s interested. When her original plan fails, she contacts him to see what he had to offer. She might have been seeking an accountant job when she arrived at his office, but she got a lot more than she bargained for. Finnley sells sex. Luxury. The fantasy. And he wants her to work for him. A hot virgin will pull a pretty price.

This book was basically one big power play. There were secrets, lies and manipulations. Though I suspected where the book would ultimately end up, I didn’t have any idea the path it would take to get there. That was what was so enjoyable about it. The twists were most unexpected and really showed just how cracked these characters are. I mean wow. This isn’t a book where you’re going to fall in love with either of the characters and you’ll never describe Finnley as “swoony.” What he is, is sexy, domineering and a bit of a dick. The sexual tension between him and Jennifer was nearly immediate. They weren’t supposed to want each other, but damned if that would stop them. The scenes between them were intense and deliciously naughty. I devoured this book in a matter of a couple of hours. It ends with a big reveal and a bit of a cliffhanger, so needless to say, I am eagerly anticipating the sequel, which releases later this spring.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

About Lyra Parish

Words make the world go round. I love to write, travel, and sing really loud at the top of my lungs in the shower. Sweet love stories (along with the dirty ones) make me gush. I am firm believer that a person can never have too many cats or cups of coffee.

Forget the beach! Give me a gel pen, a stack of blank paper, and beautiful mountains!
