TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Brandie is a Book Junkie.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK
This was fantastic! I’ve been a big fan of Santino’s writing in the Cyberlove series with Megan Erickson, but this was the first of his sole efforts that I’ve read. I loved it. It was real and gritty and sexy AF. The characters were great and I can’t wait for the next Barons book.
WHEN I WASN’T READING
Last Friday night I went to see Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone with the Washington Symphony Orchestra with a couple friends. It was so much fun! (Even if it rained for a little while.) It was outdoors under the stars and we had Harry Potter themed snacks. I had a blast. I ended up skipping my Saturday plans for the book signing because I’d gotten so little sleep. Instead, I hung out by the pool and read. It was a solid life choice. I did some blogging outdoors on Sunday before the heat wave moved in. I might’ve gotten a little carried away with my Prime Day purchases, but I’m happy with all my new toys — especially my Echo and Kindle Paperwhite!
PIC OF THE WEEK
My Harry Potter-inspired cupcakes for the concert/movie last week. How flipping cute are they?
I’m giving up my weekend — or the bulk of it, anyhow — this weekend to attend a WordPress conference in DC. My primary interest is for my job, but I’m hoping to come home with some cool new ideas/things for this site, too. Beyond that? I’m keeping things pretty low key. It’s too damn hot here to get carried away with doing too much. I can’t wait for this heat to break.
How was your week?
